2,200 Firm. If I can't sell this system it makes more sense to have my brother take the livestock and clean and store it for shipment. I recieved word that I must travel to my job site in a week so I dropped the price by $800. If interested call before I make decision. Thanks 2,200 Firm
Very Advanced Reef Aquarium System with all components. I will explain first reason for selling, the mechanics, and finally the livestock. Reason for selling is a potential move upcoming which gives me 3 weeks to accept the job offer, and a couple months to find residence in area. The system itself? I am ashamed that I cannot take it with me. Years in the making, and finally done , the system holds investment of around 12 thousand dollars. Had it in an ad last year and turned down $xxxx because this job offer wasn't set in stone. Now it is. The offer was before I built and added the waterfall system. 300 Gallons total.
Components and Mechanics:
The MAIN REEF DISPLAY Tank (Holding all Reef safe Fish) and corals with inverts is 120 Gallons. The tank itself is Reef Ready with 2 overflows and a Model 4 sump. The stand and canopy were designed with the stand to (((hugg))) the aquarium, so the aquarium actually sits inside the trim of the stand hiding the trim of the aquarium. the canopy does the same, and gives the aquarium a professional grade quality. The corners have 4 corner moldings that match the stand and give the main display a completely wrapped cabinet look. The lighting for the main reef 120 consist of (2) 250 W 13,000K Metal Halides with (2) 96W Power Compact Dual Actinics. Lights bulbs recently replaced. The lighting is controlled by (2) timers that regulate day and night simulation. The display lights turn on at 3:00 PM starting with actinics and are joined at 4:00 PM with the Halides. At 11:00 PM the main lights turn off leaving actinic blue for an hour and the systems lighting sleeps from 12 midnight until the next light cycle. The timers a programable and time can be changed easily for your viewing. The 120 also has 2 high quality circulation pumps in the main reef that give extra current. LIVESTOCK in the main reef include: 1 Hippo Tang, 1 - 8 Line Wrasse, 1 Tomato Clown in his Host Long Tenticle Anemone, 1 Flameback Pygme Angel, Giant Clam , 2 Fire Shrimp, 1 Peppermint Shrimp, 1 colony of green zooanthids, many scattered colonies of zoos different genera, A very large count of fancy mushroom colonies that spread from 2 large rocks that were purchased 4 years ago. 1 EXTEREMELY LARGE Waving Hand Coral Colony of 2 different species sharing the same rock large (very awesome piece), 1 large fiji liverock with 3 Hawaiian Feather dusters that embedded themselves in the old worm holes in the rock and have been there 3 years. Too many corals to list, really need to come see or call and I can E-Mail pictures if needed. This system alone is worth well over the $xxxx I am asking not including the components to the system I will explain in detail: 200LBS Liverock Fiji.
Refugiums (2) components and Livestock:
2 refugiums are on a custom stand that is positioned to the right side of the main display tank 120. It feeds water from the main 120 sump and returns water via gravity after refill. the refugiums have been painstakingly drilled for syphon stop in the event of a power outage, meaning the refugiums will not drain empty in the event of a power outage. The main refugium is the bottom, where it holds home to a goby and his partner Pistol shrimp. they live in a large burrow they made under a large barnicle. The top refugium I have seeded with 3 different algae that is growing. The top refugium draws water from the bottom refugium in a sort of "dual action" refugium, and returns water to the main sump via gravity. Also the top refugium has a built in skimmer that is plumbed to a reservoir that holds access skimming waste. i empty it once every couple weeks. The stand to the refugiums is water tight in the electric area where it holds both ballasts to the lighting system for the reef.
Left Side Filtration and water purification
On a stand that I made holds (2) 40G tanks that when put side by side are square. The tank in back is drilled and plumbed to recieve water from the 120G display taks main sump, and return water right back via gravity. The second tank is storage for RO-DI water. I will explain that system later. Fisrst the 40G additional sump area. This tank holds extra area to employ a few important functions. First is Hydor Performer Protien Skimmer. The Hydor s placed in the sump area and constantly skims the water of protiens, providing cleaner water through the system. The Hydor is a very nice system. In conjunction with the Hydor Skimmer is the use of a Hydor Performer Calcium Reactor. The reactor uses Reborn Coarse Media, and provides calcium to the system. I don't touch the system other than to change media every 6 months. The system comes complete with CO2 tank, Pinpoint Ph Controller by American Marine Inc. The system comes with all components regulator etc to operate the calcium reactor. 15 dollars every year to fill the tank with CO2 and the cost of the media are so much better in my opinion to feed the reef. Better than using calcium additives. Also drilled inline for quick release if needed is a removable 3 stage canister filter. This filter is in the event you ever add anything you need to remove. Simply connect in the canister filter after adding activated carbon and turn on. Some like running carbon all the time, it is here if you choose to. This area can also hold extra heater, although I have mine under the 120G Reef Display in the sump area.
The front 40G tank hold Reverse Osmosis Deionized Water. With the system comes a 4 stage RO-DI unet that hooks to a faucet. It produces RO-DI water for the system. No water enters the system unless purified. I use this area for immediate readily available water for water changes, and it also is emplyed in a very important function: Auto Top-Off. This system has both Auto Shut off and Auto Top-Off. Let me explain. If you take as little as a gallon of water from the main reef (evaporation), the system has a probe that senses water loss and automatically fills the reef with the gallon took. As the water evaporates, the waters salinity becomes more dense. Not any more, because this system ads fresh water as evaporation takes place. No more hauling emergency buckets! Also, just because the RO-DI system is hooked up doesn't mean it is running water all the time. When the 40G reservoir is full it will stop. It will only make water if the system takes some. Example, the system senses water needs replacing. It replaces water. At the same time the reservoir has room for more water. It makes the water and shuts off when complete. Took forever to design it to work proper, but it is fail-safe now. I use the RO-DI reservoir to do water changes in our small nano reef upstairs. Just a continual supply of water - and the best part really is the water is purified and no more emergency buckets driving one insane trying to manage the water level. I can actually leave for a week and come home to a very stable water level.
Finally: 3 Cube Waterfall System
The 3 cubes equal 150 Gallons and the first cube is 90G, second 40G, and finally 20G. These cubes are plumbed from the main 120G Display Reefs Sump and return right back. These cubes fill and overflow into the next cube, and when the last cube is reached, returns via PVC plumbing and gravity back to the main displays sump. It was designed to enjoy life that is not reef safe. the system also has a very nice U/V Sterilizer that sterilizes all water that enters the cubes. thus the entire water supply is going through the sterilizer. Lighting is (1) 96W power Compact Actinic and (1) 150W 20,000K HQI Halide Pendant. First tank holds 1 Snowflake Moray Eel, 2 fuzzy dwarf Lionfishes and a Clown Triggerfish. The 2nd tank holds 1 GIGANTIC Goldstriped Maroon Clownfish , Porcupine Puffer, Very Large Brain Coral, and a Long Tenticle Anemone. The 3rd tank I haven't gotten to yet. I was going to move the giant clam I have and start using the last 20G tank for a clam display. The waters flowing and is ready to go.
Well that sums the system up. Many extras. A score of plumbing parts, bulk additives, iodine, stront & moly, vitamins, test kits, surgical tools, microscope, just too much stuff to list. Lastly, the system has been operational 7 and a half years, and I hope to find a family or person that will enjoy the reef for many years to come. I am available to help dismantle and reconnect. I will also be available to take calls and visit if needed if any hands on questions come up on components. The system is designed for less "hands on", less work needed to maintain. I do however know the mechanics sound intimidating, but if you have an understanding of how your system works, the advantages are extreme in the system being as stable as it is. I am also willing to help re-plumb if you want it set up to your specific room. PLEASE DON'T call to request purchsing parts, livestock only - because I am not at all interested in taking the system apart. The system is balanced and must have all components to keep a healthy balanced ecosystem. I am taking a very very large loss, but I have to move and the system can't come with. Call Michael at (920) 680-xxxx any time. If I don't answer, leave a message and I will call you right back. Don't forget to leave a message on your return number. Wish I could load more pictures. Thanx
